University of Oxford Oxford University Library Services Healthcare Libraries LIBRARY ASSISTANT Part-time (9.00AM - 1.00PM) CLERICAL & LIBRARY GRADE C2 : Salary ££10,558 - £12,401 (pro rata) Applicants are invited for a Library Assistant post in the Cairns Library. This is a 1-year fixed-term appointment in the first instance. The Cairns Library (part of Oxford University Library Services) is a busy health care library with a main base at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospital, The John Radcliffe and site libraries at The Radcliffe Infirmary and The Churchill. It is the library of the Oxford University Faculty of Clinical Medicine and also serves the local NHS Trusts. It is a central resource for the NHS regional library network. The Cairns Library is seeking an enthusiastic Library Assistant, who is capable of maintaining a high standard of customer care. The duties will be varied and include interlibrary loans, photocopying, journal processing and binding, shelving and basic reader enquiries. The post is based at the Radcliffe Infirmary and the postholder will be required to undertake similar duties at the Radcliffe Science Library and on the other sites. The post would suit a person with a mature outlook and flexible approach to work, who would enjoy the variety provided by working in different places. Previous library experience is not essential as training will be given.
