THE LONDON LIBRARY Systems Assistant £17,748 - £20,123 The London Library is seeking a qualified librarian to assist the Systems Librarian in maintaining and developing IT sources and services in the Library. This is an established post helping to maintain the Library's range of computer systems, including the Dynix library management system, a World Wide Web site, CD-ROM resources and the accounts administration network. The provision of day-to-day assistance to staff and members of the Library is an important aspect of the work along with the design and delivery of relevant IT training. Besides the routine work of hardware, software and network support, there are opportunities for involvement in projects to introduce new IT services to the Library. Applicants should have good general IT skills plus excellent oral and written communication skills and a flair for problem solving. Previous experience of work of this kind will be an advantage but this post could also suit a recently qualified librarian with a demonstrable interest in systems librarianship. An approved Route A training scheme is available.
