We require an
enthusiastic and highly motivated qualified librarian to play a lead role in
training NHS staff in both acute and primary care settings and the health
authority to access and use printed and electronic information resources.
Reporting to the Lead Health Librarian, you will be keen to develop and deliver
high quality information skills training, to market and promote the service, and
to support and advise service users.
Assistant
Information Librarian (half-time) (A&C 4/5 £12,358 - £18,236 pro

This is
initially a development post aimed at a newly qualified librarian or an
experienced librarian interested in updating their skills. The postholder will
support the Lead Health Librarian and the Training and Resource Development
Librarian providing a library and information service to NHS staff in
Herefordshire. An interest in electronic sources of information and in
developing your training skills, and a willingness to support and help service
users, is essential.
To help provide
a high quality, comprehensive and efficient library and information service to
NHS staff, by assisting them with their use of the library, and by providing
support for general library routines.
This includes help with users’ queries, assisting them with using
computers and software, and the acquisition, issue and return of library
materials. This post would suit
someone with an interest in customer care, a helpful and supportive manner, and
familiarity with computers. A good level of literacy and numeracy is
important.
