Reader Services Assistants (5 posts - 12 month appointments) Exciting opportunities have arisen for motivated self starters to join a busy Reader Services team, delivering front-line services in an academic library. All five posts offer the opportunity to gain valuable experience of working in a customer-driven environment. Two posts will be based mainly at the Main and Science Library Issue Desks providing the post holder with the opportunity to develop excellent interpersonal and communication skills. In addition to issue desk work, these posts include related off-Desk work and reshelving duties. (Please quote references 25/0001 and 26/0001). Two posts are required to carry out important re-shelving and shelf-tidying work, ensuring the smooth-running of the library on a day-to-day basis. Ideally, the successful applicants will work from 8.30 - 16.30 to allow for early morning tidying of public areas. (Please quote references 27/0001 and 28/0001). One post is required to aid in the delivery of an effective and friendly integrated photocopying and reshelving service. Main duties include staffing the photocopying enquiry desk and assisting with the organisation of part-time reshelving staff. (Please quote reference 29/0001). For all posts, experience of working with the public and the ability to work under pressure is essential, and successful applicants will also have excellent communication and IT skills. Teamwork skills and experience of working in libraries would be an advantage. Salary within the CRA2 range £12,222 - £14,174 per annum inclusive of London Weighting (subject to review). In addition, Library Services offers a generous leave allowance and a flexitime system.
