PRINTS AND PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP

AUDIENCE: The aim of this workshop is to introduce people to the world of
prints and printmaking and to enable them, by the end of the day, to be
able to look at a print and tell how it was produced. There will be
demonstrations of the different printing processes, for example, etching,
relief printing, lithography and screen printing. Plus the opportunity to
handle different prints and ask questions at a plenary session.
PRESENTATIONS TO INCLUDE:
* The history of prints and printmaking
* Explanations and demonstrations of the different printing processes
* Paper
* Contemporary aspects of prints and printmaking and conservation issues
A formal tour of the Art, Media and Design Library has not been organized
but the Library will be open and delegates are welcome to look around
