-------------------------------------------- The Researcherıs Guide: Online and In Print -------------------------------------------- The BUFVC is pleased to announce the launch of the Researcherıs Guide: film, television, radio and related documentation collections in the UK. This invaluable resource is released as the Researcherıs Guide Online (RGO), a fully searchable online database via the BUFVC website, and as a publication, The Researcherıs Guide (the sixth printed edition of the Researcherıs Guide to British Film & Television Collections). The Researcher's Guide lists 547 collections, including: - 118 core radio collections - 319 core moving image collections - 110 core documentation collections THE DATABASE The Researcherıs Guide Online (www.bufvc.ac.uk/rgo) is a fully searchable online reference with full collection details - their holdings, access facilities, cataloguing, online presence (including databases) - with links, and contacts. The collections include film and television archives, television companies, radio stations, stockshot and newsreel libraries, written archives and those in higher and further education. It is a unique resource for researchers in both academia and industry. Password access to this site is available for all BUFVC members, and for researchers and academics in the UK higher and further education community. The database will be continually updated. THE BOOK The book contains all 547 collections, almost double the number in the fifth (1997) edition, reflecting its widened scope, enhanced as always by articles and appendixes relevant to film and television research, and by a directory of film and television researchers.
