Robert Howes Sub Librarian University of Sussex ******************************************************* Supporting art and design history research in Brighton P/T Project Officer (Fixed-term for 1 year) £19,482 to £25,213 or £26,216 to £30,967 p.a. pro rata Ref 144 Interested in art and design? We are looking for someone for an exciting new fixed-term post, which offers scope for working with art and design library collections in the Brighton area. The major libraries in the Brighton area are setting up a one-year project funded by the Research Support Libraries Programme (RSLP) to promote their holdings of published resources which support research in art and design history. The project aims to: · identify the strengths of existing book collections · prepare printed and web-based guides and promotional material · enhance access to rare items · promote future resource sharing and collection management. The partners in the project are the Universities of Sussex and Brighton and Brighton & Hove Council. The part-time (50%) Project Officer will be responsible for carrying out the project, which will be led by the Project Manager and Steering Group. The successful candidate must have a degree or equivalent and a relevant professional qualification, with preferably at least two years' experience in a library, archival or museum environment. Knowledge of art and design history, an ability to create web pages and research skills are essential, as are excellent leadership and project management skills.
