Interested in art and design? We are looking for someone for an exciting new
fixed-term post, which offers scope for working with art and design library
collections in the Brighton area.

The major libraries in the Brighton area are setting up a one-year project
funded by the Research Support Libraries Programme (RSLP) to promote their
holdings of published resources which support research in art and design
history. The project aims to:
· identify the strengths of existing book collections
· prepare printed and web-based guides and promotional material
· enhance access to rare items
· promote future resource sharing and collection management.

The partners in the project are the Universities of Sussex and Brighton and
Brighton & Hove Council.
The part-time (50%) Project Officer will be responsible for carrying out the
project, which will be led by the Project Manager and Steering Group. The
successful candidate must have a degree or equivalent and a relevant
professional qualification, with preferably at least two years' experience
in a library, archival or museum environment. Knowledge of art and design
history, an ability to create web pages and research skills are essential,
as are excellent leadership and project management skills.
Salary range dependant on experience and qualifications.
