UNIVERSITY OF LONDON LIBRARY Library Assistant - Historic Collections (CRA2) We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Historic Collections team which embraces Rare Books/Special Collections; Archives and Manuscripts; Palaeography; Preservation/Conservation and serves a diverse research led community from within the University of London and beyond. You will provide general clerical support to the services and activities of the Section, which will include supervising Library users, providing a basic enquiry and referral service, and fetching and shelving the material requested for use. The responsibilities of the postholder are varied and offer an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person with a lively interest in Historic Collections to gain a practical overview of this field. Educated to at least A level/BTEC standard, you should posses basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, have the ability to work accurately with attention to detail and relate well to the Library's customers. Previous library experience an advantage, but a demonstrable interest in working with Historic Collections more important. Starting salary in the range £12,222 - £14,174 (incl. L.A.) Interested?
