The Royal College of Physicians has been involved in setting standards in
medical practice since 1518.  We seek to recruit an Archivist to manage and
develop the Records Management and Archive Service.  Responsibilities
include preparing policies and budgets; cataloguing, indexing and
conservation of archives; advising on and promoting best record-keeping
practice throughout the College, including the implementation of an
electronic records management system (EDM).  Additionally the post-holder
will answer enquiries from staff, College members and other users.

As part of the overall LIS strategy, the post-holder will devise and
implement initiatives to increase the use of the archives and records as an
information resource, particularly through the development of web-based
services.

Applicants should be graduates with a recognised professional qualification
in archive administration with at least three years post-qualification
experience.  You must be IT literate, able to work with minimum supervision
and possess good organisational and analytical skills, and be a good
team-worker.
