CLAUD Conference Marketing Library Services for Disabled Users Wills Hall University of Bristol Wednesday 18th July 9.30am - 4.00pm CLAUD is a consortium of librarians in Higher Education networking to improve library access for disabled users in the South and Southwest of England. The day's programme will cover the marketing of services in the widest sense, focusing on promotion and training. The Programme will be varied and will include workshop sessions relating to a variety of disability issues. The main speakers are Prof. Andrew McDonald and Jenny Craven. Andrew McDonald is Director of Information Services and Professor of Information Management and Strategy at the University of Sunderland - an organisation committed to improving access to learning, particularly to those with disability and learning difficulty. Jenny Craven is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Library and Information Management at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Jenny has worked on a number of research projects, including the British Library and JISC funded REVIEL (Resources for Visually Impaired users of the Electronic Library) project, published in 1999. TRANSPORT Wills Hall is a short taxi ride from both Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway stations. It is easily accessible from the M5 J17. A road map will be provided for delegates and there is ample car parking space. VENUE Wills Hall, situated close to the Downs in Bristol, is the original Hall of Residence of the University. Adjacent modern accommodation and a conference centre were added in 1990.
