OXFORD UNIVERSITY LIBRARY SERVICES BODLEIAN LIBRARY DEPARTMENT OF READER SERVICES & COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN (SOCIAL SCIENCES) ACADEMIC RELATED GRADE 2: SALARY SCALE £20,267 - £26,229 (from Sept 01) Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Librarian, (Social Sciences). This newly defined post is for a Social Sciences subject Consultant, working in both the Bodleian Library and the Social Studies Libraries. It entails a wide range of col-lection management and reader service activities, besides extensive liaison with aca-demic staff and other libraries. The skills and qualifications required by the post include a good honours degree with a professional qualification, (in librarian-ship or information science), the ability to communicate effectively, experience of relevant social sciences, and a working knowledge of at least one European language.
