On Monday 2nd July 2001, INSPIRAL (INveStigating Portals for Information Resources And Learning: http://inspiral.cdlr.strath.ac.uk/) will be holding the first of three Workshops looking at possibilities and strategies for the integration of virtual learning environments and digital library services in the UK.
INSPIRAL would like to invite educators, librarians, information scientists, learning technologists, system vendors, content providers and others with an interest in the integration of virtual / managed learning environments, and digital or hybrid libraries, to attend this event, which represents an exciting opportunity to meet with others facing similar challenges and to share experiences and ideas for ways forward.
INSPIRAL's stakeholder consultation so far has shown that enhancing collaboration between the different sectors involved in these issues is of great importance. This event represents the chance to not only support INSPIRAL's research and affect its outcome, but to begin the process of such collaborations at a high level.
The focus of this event will exam organisational and end-user (rather than technical) issues and experiences as raised in INSPIRAL's stakeholder consultation to date, with an emphasis on developing positive ways forward at all levels. It is therefore of relevance to those with an interest in teaching and learning, content and service provision, or institutional management.
This event is free, and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
