There are some good translation tools out there (I usually try InterTran at http://www.tranexp.com/ which covers 28 languages including Norwegian), but what if you can't work out which language you're starting with? For this I find the MLTT Language Identifier very useful: it's at http://www.rxrc.xerox.com/research/mltt/tools/guesser (It must be good, as it also thinks that "Med vennlig hilsin" is Norwegian.)
