HEALTHY LIVING: roles for library and information services

CPI Library and Information Policy Seminar, Stamford, Weds 31 October 2001,
organised in partnership with the NHS Information Policy Unit.

AIM:
---
To highlight the scope for partnerships in health information and for joint
working between public libraries, the NHS, and the healthcare, community and
voluntary sectors.

To provide examples and ideas for joint working.

To identify current trends and issues for partnerships in health information
provision and the relationship between reading and health.

The seminar will
- focus on projects in Kirklees, Calderdale and Cambridgeshire, on links
  between the NHS and libraries, and on models for using the web to
  deliver high-quality information to the public;
- probe the potential for libraries to have an effective role in working for
  a healthy community;
- be a catalyst for ideas and proposals.

Public library and health sector information managers, and others with an
interest in community healthcare and information.

Opportunities are built in throughout the programme for discussion,
questions and debate on these key current topics.

Venue:    The George Hotel Business Centre, Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Stamford is 90 miles north of London and easily accessible by road (A1) or
rail (Stamford-Peterborough, Leicester and Birmingham line). Stamford
station is just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. There is adequate free car
parking at the rear of the hotel.

Fee:    #195.00 (including VAT) includes morning coffee, lunch, afternoon
