The membership allows staff in BUFVC member institutions to
obtain multiple* recordings each year of television
programmes broadcast since 1st June 1998. These are supplied
on VHS videotape. The BUFVC is the only body in Britain
holding a letter of agreement with the Educational Recording
Agency (ERA) allowing the back-up recording of UK television
programmes under Section 35 of the Copyright, Designs and
Patents Act 1988. We record a minimum of 16 hours of
broadcasts each day from the five terrestrial channels and
cover BBC2 around the clock.
* Membership includes 12 recordings per year (further copies
subject to additional payment)
