Birmingham's best new comic named
Library worker Andy Newsham has been named the best new comic in Birmingham.
The 25-year-old says he was amazed to win contest, part of the Birmingham
Comedy Festival.
Ex-teacher Lawrence Inman and deadpan Muslim stand-up Shazia Mirza were
named as runners-up.
Burnley-born Newsham says: "There's a real comedy boom in the city. There's
a lot of very good new comedians coming up. Everyone who performed was
really good."
