A Social Science Information Gateway (SOSIG) Roadshow is to be hosted at
Barnsley College on 31 May at 2 pm.  Lesley Huxley, Training and Research
Technology Manager for the Institute for Learning and Reseach Technology at
Bristol University will be combining a presentation, demonstration and a
hands-on session.

SOSIG was developed as a National Service in 1994 to provide social
scientists with quicker and more reliable access to the growing number of
resources on the web.  A team of subject specialists around the UK select,
evaluate and catalogue thousands of relevant resources.

Subject areas include:

Business, Economics, Education, Environment, Science, Geography, Government
and Public Administration, Law, Philosophy, Politics, Psychology, Social
Science, Social Welfare, Sociology, Statistics and Women's Studies.

The Roadshow is called "Making Sense of the Internet for Social Scientists"
and attendance is free.
