Reference management software is having an increasingly important
role to play for researchers and information professionals need to
keep abreast of the features, functions and capabilities of the
leading products on the market. The course aims to provide an
overview of reference management software, outlines key issues
surrounding use and provide an opportunity to explore a number of key
packages.

STRAND ONE : DEMONSTRATION OF MAIN REFERENCE MANAGEMENT PACKAGES
The morning programme will outline the main software packages, the
distinguishing features of each, highlighting particular strengths
and weaknesses and their local use.

STRAND TWO ; IMPLEMENTATION OF REFERENCE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
The afternoon will consider some of the legal and copyright issues
(buyers rights, licences, etc) surrounding implementation, putting
references on the Web and a look at future software options
