MAKING YOUR WEBSITE MORE POPULAR

Having mastered the technicalities of writing HTML, you produce your
website, put it up onto the web and eagerly await the hoards of
visitors who will flock to see it. Unfortunately, in many cases, the
hoards do not arrive. This course looks at some of the ways in which
you can ensure that you get more visitors to your site. Subjects
covered will be the role of search engines, and how to write webpages
that get a good ranking with them, the role of the meta tag, how to
use statistics to modify your design, and how the design of the site
itself can encourage people to spend time and your site, rather than
sending them away.
Delegates do not need HTML writing skills, but they should have a
good understanding of the Internet and ideally should either be
producing a website themselves, or should be managing someone who is.
By the end of the course delegates should have a clearer idea of how
best to make their websites more popular and will have learned tips
and techniques to ensure that more visitors come to their sites.
