Electronic Resource Co-ordinator

Salary 26,216 - 30,967 Pounds Sterling p.a. (2 year appointment)


Current developments in the Oxford University Library Services are taking
place in the context of a "hybrid library" strategy to integrate from the
user's perspectives as far as possible traditional and electronic
materials, catalogues and finding aids across the University libraries.  As
one of the initiatives to facilitate these developments, a new post of
Electronic Resource Co-ordinator has been established for which
applications are invited.

The post holder will have a major role in the development, co-ordination
and financial management of Oxford's electronic subscriptions to databases
and journals, and their integration with other scholarly resources.  For
this challenging and exciting post, s/he should be a librarian with broad
experience in the area of collection development, the information market,
and managing a sizeable budget.  S/he should have proven ability in the
management of electronic materials and their licensing, and a sound working
knowledge of the special issues concerning their acquisition and delivery.
S/he must be an accomplished negotiator, with excellent communication
skills, and able to represent the Oxford libraries at the national level.
