There are case studies on the ASTER web site (http://cti-psy.york.ac.uk/aster/) which detail the ways in which various people have been using tools like this and how they've got on with them. There are several examples of Virtual Learning Environments (mostly WebCT) being used in Psychology. (No detailed costings, but plenty of pros and cons!) Although ASTER is interested particularly in small-group teaching, many of our findings, and the experiences of the lecturers who participated, are equally relevant to other types of teaching and learning. Best wishes, Catherine.
