The following advertisement for three more Education posts at the British Library will appear in the TES on Friday 15th June: The British Library, in partnership with The Public Record Office and The Office for National Statistics, is embarking on a ground-breaking initiative for education. ‘21st Century Citizen’: an online resource for Citizenship in schools’ will be a rich web site, providing online educational resources for Citizenship in the National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4 and available free to all schools via the National Grid for Learning. We are now recruiting to fill the first key positions for this exciting new project within our Education Service. Project Manager We are looking for an experienced manager to lead the dedicated project team, which will work closely with teachers, advisers, commercial suppliers and the project partners to create the new web site. You must have experience of successful project management, as well as excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills, and you must be familiar with web-based developments. Experience of teaching or curriculum development and the creation of digital learning materials will be an advantage. Salary circ. £30,000 Ref C1 Content Writer (2 posts) You will work with a dedicated researcher and administrative support to create the interactive content for the web site. You will need experience of creating online resources for schools or young people and the ability to create high-quality interactive web-based learning materials, to time and on budget. You should have teaching experience at KS3 or 4 and ideas for imaginative ways of introducing the Citizenship National Curriculum. Research skills and the ability to use, or learn, web-authoring software would be an advantage.
