Jim Newboult has always been incredibly helpful and makes an enormous range
of stuff from different periods. He is also very reasonable and does demos
too. Time Team have used him on the Canterbury programme as he is very into
tile making too.
One other big advantage is that he is not a middle man but a maker unlike
the also excellent Quartermasterie (aka Suzanne Cornthwaite and Ian
Skipper).

Anyone interested in suppliers of all kinds could do no better than make
sure they have a copy of the excellent CALL TO ARMS - the definitive guide
to who does what and from when. It is available from
