Dear All, Just to reiterate: Yes all projects could produce digitial archives, but should they ? To quote the ADS "Good" Guide, Section 8.1, ..."Documentary archives held safely in paper form need not be digitised unless there is a need to provide digital access to the information contained therein or digitisation is being used to provide a security copy". Indeed, some of the clauses in the Guide might make perfect clauses for an IFA Standard & Guidance. In truth, a simple electronic meta-data form like OASIS is not an archive and is all that is needed for most low grade sites. Agian, if we are required to be selective about what material archives are kept in museums, then the same principle applies to digital archives. Why make extra work and costs for people ? Cheers, Neil
