Some of us are tied into our Local Authority GIS system, and this may well not be a 'standard' software package, such as MapInfo, ArcView or AutoCAD. The option to move to more compatible software may not be available. I concur with Tim, allowances will have to be made for the use of a variety of software when considering standards.
