Second part of our proposal is as follows: " 1) Additional paragraphs and changes to existing paragraphs a) Suggested additions to Project outlines stage "The specification or project design should identify relevant data standards for records organisation and content that will be used in information recording systems employed by the project." The above to be added to the following documents / sections:- "Desk-based assessment" section 3.2 "Field evaluation" section 3.2 "Excavation" section 3.2 "Watching brief" section 3.2 "Building investigation and recording" section 3.2 Also: rewrite "Excavation" section 3.2.13 to say... "The project design should include an agreed collection and disposal strategy for any digital content produced during the excavation as well as any artefacts or ecofacts." b) Data collection standard paragraph "Records created as part of the project should comply with specified data standards." The above to be added to the following documents / sections:- "Desk-based assessment" Section 3.3 "Field evaluation" section 3.4 "Excavation "section 3.3 "Watching brief" section 3.3 "Building investigation and recording" section 3.3 c) Data dissemination standard paragraph "Subject to confidentiality arrangements specified for the project, the archaeologist, either during fieldwork or as soon as possible after its conclusion, should prepare a structured description of the project suitable for publication or inclusion in national and local data archives. This should contain sufficient detail to help researchers to find and access the project archive. A suitable format is set out at Annexe XX." 'The requirements for archive preparation', including digital 'must be.... Rewrite "Excavation" section 3.9.2 to say... 'The proposed recipient museum',digital archive 'or other repository.... Rewrite "Excavation" section 3.9.3to say... 'The archive including' digital data and 'all retained artefacts..."
