Dear mailbase members:

BRE Press release

A one day, BRE seminar on Eurocodes in Building Practice will be held at the
Institution of Structural Engineers on 19 November 2001.

Designers, construction companies and materials producers will soon be
expected to use the Eurocodes in building practice. Within the UK there is
still a lack of knowledge on what they entail and how they will affect
working practice.

For this reason, members of the Eurocode committee for Design of Structures
are holding a one day event in the UK which will cover the following issues:

* Eurocode EN1990:Basis of structural design
*       Eurocode1 EN1991: Actions on structures
* The general set up of the Eurocode system
* The progress in producing the operational documents
* The implementation programme in member states.

Eurocodes in building practice is aimed at engineers, designers,
contractors, materials producers, property managers and students. Attendance
will mean that delegates learn in advance of implementation what they need
to know about the Eurocodes and how their company can benefit from early
adoption. The fee for attendance is £100 & VAT.

Eurocodes in building practice will be held in the Institution of Structural
Engineers, 19 November 2001
