Following Gilliane's observations in soft clays, an alternative fresh approach to the dissipation analysis is that by Elsworth (e.g., Geotechnical Site Characterization, Vol. 2, Balkema, Rotterdam, 1409-1413) that uses dislocation theory and shows porewater responses increase then decrease.
