Summer Internship Opportunity, Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia:

The Oceania Project's 12th Whale & Dolphin Expedition in Hervey Bay,
Queensland, Australia takes place during August to October 2001 when the
Humpback Whales visit Hervey Bay on their southward journey to
Antarctica.

The Expedition is in 10 weekly segments of 5 nights/6 days duration.
The
cost for joining a weekly segment as an Eco-volunteer is:  $1150
Australian (Approx $675 US);  Intership Program $950 australia ( approx
$475 US) and; Youth Program $650 (Approx $325 US ). US Prices are
subject
to currency flucuations. The Youth Program is available for high school
student and/or young people 14 to 18 years. The Internship Program is
availble to under-graduate and graduate students,
teaching/academic/admin
staff of Universities or related Institutes and/or members of Cetacean
and/or Marine Mammal Organisations.

The Oceania Project is undertaking a long term Photo ID/DNA study of the
East Coast of Australia Humpbacks passing through Hervey Bay in
conjunction with the Queensland Environment Protection Agency and the
Centre for Animal Conservation Genetics at Southern Cross University,
Lismore, NSW Australia.  Expedition participants support and become
fully
involved in the research program.

Expedition Participants are invited to become fully involved in the
on-board research program and the daily operation of the Expedition
