GENERAL
FUNCTION: Develop and administer a Center for Independent Living by providing
leadership, vision, and overall management. Implement the policies of the Board
of Directors to maximize the independence of people with
disabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND
DUTIES:
•
Manage
finances and supervise staff
•
Raise funds
and prepare grant applications
•
Develop and
implement annual and long range plans
•
Provide public
presentations and outreach activities
•
Implement the
independent living philosophy
•
Interact
effectively with the community and other organizations
QUALIFICATIONS AND
REQUIREMENTS:
• Demonstrated fiscal and personnel
management skills
• Ability to obtain and manage
outside grants and contracts
• Effective organization,
leadership, and communication skills
• Knowledge and commitment to the
independent living philosophy
• Personal experience with a
disability
• Experience with cross-disability
issues
• Knowledge of community resources
and ADA issues
• Computer skills and knowledge of
computer applications
• Bachelors degree (minimum)
CURRENT PROGRAM:
• Budget approximately $300,000 per
fiscal year
•
Eleven (11)
paid staff and numerous volunteers
SALARY
RANGE:
•
$35,000 to
$40,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits
•
Salary
increases based on expansion of funding base
