ACCESS SUMMIT - UMIST (Manchester)

CLERICAL ASSISTANT

A full time Clerical Assistant is required for the Access Summit, Joint
Universities Disability Resource Centre initially for a one-year period. The

skills to deal with telephone, fax and minicom calls to the Centre. The
successful applicant will assist with allocation of Non-medical Personal
Helper Support (NMH) for students with disabilities. This also includes
handling enquiries from students and NMH, processing timesheets for pay
claims and invoicing funding bodies as well as keeping and updating student
and NMH records on a database, filing, photocopying, electronic mail, and
other related duties. The postholder will use initiative and maintain
confidentiality when dealing with staff, students and outside contacts. Some
travelling between the four universities may be involved occasionally.

A good level of numeracy will be required as well as word processing and
