Hi Peter Much as I agree with you not to 'give in' I'm just suggesting if there isn't a need for an attachment then let's not use one. This way the virus won't spread either. I've had about 5 Sir Cams so far, all with different subject headers all looking pretty genuine, but of course I haven't opened any! However clever we all are there are times when we forget and it's far too easy to double click on the attachment without thinking. I'd rather see stuff posted to a webpage - with a URL included in the email. That way folks have the choice of whether to access it or not. However, I realise that if you don't have ready access to FTP facilities, this can be an inconvenient way to communicate. Having said that, encouraging restrictions as a result of virus activity is, in my view, giving in to the sad plonkers who devise and distribute such viruses. Identifying the Sir Cam worm (and most other viruses) is pretty easy anyway (says he, with fingers tightly crossed). The bottom line is: If you don't know what's in the attachment, delete it. If it's important (and legitimate), it can always be sent again.
