I would certainly support his request for additional training, it is likely that interpretation doesn't quite work in 'hands on' fields like this, I imagine it will only be short term, let's face it, people rarely want more training than they need - or do they?? Would it be reasonable to assume that he cannot learn as quickly as the other students beause everything has to be translated to him and that he cannot pick up tips from general conversation etc so training would be necessary?? I certainly don't want to disadvantage him but would be interested to hear what others woud do.
