Resources for disabled staff in higher and further education
(the UK only)

Ms. Williamson of Oxford Student Mental Health Network asked: "Is anyone
aware of any web sites with guidance information for disabled staff members
within HEIs or know of any organisations who will provide information?"

A research project at City University has been looking into the emerging
public policy issues from the implementation of the Part II (Employment) of
the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) over a year as a part of the larger
integrated project on disability and higher education (As well as further
education).

The output would include the peer-reviewed papers (currently under the
preparation) as well as resource web site for the disabled staff in higher
education such as the annotated full text of the DDA, related regulations
and other materials such as newspaper article digests as a part of the
research project web site at http://www.student.city.ac.uk/~cx639/index.htm
The resources on this web site may have already been relevant and helpful to
disabled members of the staff in higher education since the Part IV
(Students) and Part II (staff) provisions are largely similar.

The members of the staff may wish to contact the Researcher directly on what
kind of resources they would like to see in this web site at
[log in to unmask] It is also possibble to provide one-to-one advice and
guidance on the implementation of the DDA such as the reasonable adjustments
upon contact directly by disabled staff and applicants.

The list members may also wish to offer comments on the content of such web
site aimed at the memebrs of the staff in higher education.

Hope this helps with the enquiry for communication purposes.
