I am sure we have all done it. Accidentally put a load of email addresses external to our own organisation in the "TO" or "CC" fields, and merrily sent it on its way. Or pressed "Reply to ALL" without giving the matter a second thought, and thus potentially breaking the DPA by distributing loads of email addresses that the "owners" thought were private. This means that every individual with email access in any organisation is cheerfully capable of breaking the law. Do any of us have any "systems" in place which can prevent this? We have policies, but a policy is not a thing that Bill Gates has implemented in Outlook! _____________________________________________________________ Tim Trent Chief Privacy Officer EMEA > Gartner EMEA Marketing, Tamesis, The Glanty, Egham, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW20 9AW Switchboard +44 (0)1784 431 611, Direct Line +44 (0)1784 267 335, Mobile +44 (0)7710 126 618 Visit our home on the web: http://www.gartner.com The opinions expressed in this message are my own, and may or may not reflect those of my employer.
