Appalling. Consent is a red herring. So "the framework will only be put in
place if citizens give consent"? When is the referendum being held, then?
The identifiers which appear to require consent are already held by
government or their agencies, so could be obtained by fair means or foul
even if consent is withheld.
The purpose "identifying a citizen" is not meaningful as it would appear to
apply for absolutely any reason required. Consent is equally meaningless in
this context.
As to the bottom line - having a single point of notification of change
which is then passed to all relevant bodies - Anyone with experience of
local/central government doing this at all effectively please make yourself
known. The very fact that I&DEA & UKOnline are doing 2 similar projects
speaks volumes on that score.
What, I wonder, does the OIC have to say?
