In the absence of our Data Protection Officer on annual leave, I wonder if
someone would be able to help me with the following query:

We have been asked by our Marketing Department to pass copies of UCAS files
received during Clearing to a third party consultancy who have been retained
to assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns supporting Clearing.

We have contacted UCAS who say they are happy that we send the files,
providing that the data is used for statistical analysis only, and that
individuals are not contacted in any way by the third party.

We remain somewhat concerned because:
* the files contain all institutions UCAS applicant data, not just
Glamorgan applicants
* the files can contain personal and sensitive data

I would be grateful for any views and guidance anyone can give me with this.

Regards,
