With regard to sponsored students, we only disclose information about their progress/results to their sponsor with their permission. However, is there any objection to the disclosure to a particular sponsor of the names of students they have sponsored. The Sch 2 condition would be that it is for the purpose of legitimate interests pursued by us without prejudice to the rights of individuals as the sponsor will already have the information (in their financial records somewhere). It seems bizarre to disclose the info because the sponsor has not kept records in a way that they can be retrieved in a form they want easily ( to encourage their employees to continue studying apparently) but somewhat paranoid for dp to be used not to disclose in these circs.
