FOI Act amends Section 16 of the DPA to include Public Authority indicator

It also removes the expiry date of 1984 notifications at 23/10/2001 (i.e.
1984 notifications which expire after 23/10/2001 expire when the 3 years is
up and not on 23/10)

Am I missing something here - what has FOIA got to do with Data Protection
Notifications? I understood that as and when they expired you renewed them
under the Data Protection Act i.e. if you registered something in September
1998 it would not come up for Notification until September 2001.
Please inform me if I am wrong.
