Hello, Researchers at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne are currently in the middle of some innovative research involving local graffiti writers. The aim of the research is to find out from them if legal sites could work in reducing levels of graffiti (tagging) in the area. The local graffiti forum, hosted by the City Council, are keen to explore all options and in particular seek the opinions of those involved. We would like to ask for help and advise from anybody who has been involved in similar research with graffiti writers or has a particular specialism in this subject area. Also, do you know of projects/ initiatives that have been developed that have incorporated legal/ decriminalised sites? Do they work? How do they work?
