CENTRE FOR RUSSIAN MUSIC, GOLDSMITHS COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON PRESENTS: A Day of Sofia Gubaidulina Purcell Room, South Bank Centre 25 February 2001 from 1pm to 9:30 pm Goldsmiths' prestigious Centre for Russian Music is organising a celebration of the life and work of Sofia Gubaidulina, the greatest living Russian composer who will be 70 years old in 2001. The celebration will be the only London tribute to Gubaidulina - festivals of her music will also take place on Stockholm, Melbourne, New York, Moscow. The day will include three concerts (at 1.00pm, 4.00 pm and 7.30 pm) featuring best of Gubaidulina's chamber music, together with a round table discussion with the performers and composers, and a film on the composer and her music. THE DAY WILL BE COMPLEMENTED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 'MAGIC WORLD PF SOFIA GUBAIDULINA' AT THE GOLDSMITHS COLLEGE ON 26 FEBRUARY, 3- 6 PM.
