Call for Papers: 'Hogg 2002'

The Tenth James Hogg Society Conference

Balliol College, Oxford University, 1 - 3 July 2002

'Hogg 2002', the tenth James Hogg Society Conference, will take place on 1
- 3 July
2002 at Balliol College, Oxford University. In addition to the programme of
conference papers, there will be a walking tour of Oxford and a conference
dinner.

Proposals are invited for individual 20-minute papers, or for sessions
consisting of
3 - 4 papers addressing a particular topic. As is usual at Hogg Society
conferences,
papers will be welcome on all aspects of Hogg and his world, but for 'Hogg
2002'
there may be a particular interest in considering Hogg's relevance to
current topics
of study and debate in the opening years of the twenty-first century.
Speakers will
be invited to offer their papers for consideration for possible publication
in the
Hogg Society's peer-reviewed journal, _Studies in Hogg and his World_. The
closing
date for proposals for papers is 30 March 2002, and proposals should be
sent to:

Professor Douglas Mack
Department of English Studies
University of Stirling
STIRLING FK9 4LA
Scotland

e-mail: [log in to unmask]

(On request, Prof. Mack will send further details of the conference to
those who wish
to attend, but who do not wish to offer a paper.)
