Libraries, Heritage and Trading Standards Principal Archives Assistant 37 hours per week County Record Office, Warwick Scale 4: £13,299 - £14,823 (pay award pending) Warwickshire County Record Office is embarking on a programme of expansion and development, and wishes to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic person to lead a team of seven archive assistants. Your key duties will involve managing the day to day operation of reception and public searchroom services. You will also be responsible for the overall supervision, co-ordination and direction of the archive assistant team, including preparation of staffing rotas, recruitment, induction, appraisal and development of staff. A good communicator, you will enjoy the opportunity to help shape the future of the record office, and will be comfortable working alongside professional archivists and the public. The successful candidate will work principally as document production assistant and receptionist, but there will be an opportunity to experience the broader range of activities associated with a busy County Record Office. Good communication skills and commitment to delivering a high quality public service are essential. The post would suit a graduate wishing to gain relevant work experience prior to taking a post-graduate qualification in Archive Administration. There is a degree of flexibility around the hours to be worked, up to a maximum of 37 per week.
