I agree strongly with David's view that the Society's website has long been one of its weakest features. This is not a criticism of the volunteer input but of the Society's graps of communication and self-promotion, for which a website is a very effective, though not necessarily cheap, tool. David is not alone in wondering how well the society matches its priorities against those of its members (that I can readily make that distinction says something surely?). The time is long overdue for the Society to make a judicious investment in ICT, a quality website and reliable e-mail based communication at the very least.
