IMPERIAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY AND MEDICINE NATIONAL HEART AND LUNG INSTITUTE OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL MEDICINE MEDICAL STATISTICIAN We are looking for an enthusiastic Medical Statistician to join a diverse team in an active and lively clinical research department. The successful candidate will be involved on many levels in a variety of projects investigating occupational and environmental causes of lung disease, with particular emphasis on asthma. The post-holder's main responsibility will be data analysis but will be involved in all aspects of the research, from assisting with fieldwork through to design issues and presentation of results at scientific meetings. There will also be opportunities for teaching and some statistical consultancy in the Institute. Applicants must have a first degree in Mathematics, Statistics or a related subject and ideally an MSc in Medical Statistics. Practical experience with SAS or Stata is essential and knowledge of databases would be an advantage. The starting salary will be on the ORS 1 scale £19,585 - £24,433 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting. The position is available for two years in the first instance, with the possibility of a further extension.
