This message was originally submitted by [log in to unmask] to the
DIGITAL-PRESERVATION list at JISCMAIL.AC.UK. You can approve it using the "OK"
mechanism, ignore it, or repost an edited copy. The message will expire
automatically and you do not need to do anything if you just want to discard
it. Please refer to the list owner's guide if you are not familiar with the
"OK" mechanism; these instructions are being kept purposefully short for your
convenience in processing large numbers of messages.

We are currently starting a project to migrate our collection of digital
broadcast-quality videotapes onto another storage medium - probably hard
disk or data carts. We want to copy each tape, edit it into short
segments, and index each segment.

We want to commission a consultant to compile a shopping list of the
necessary equipment and software, but so far have had little luck in
locating suitably qualified and experienced people in the UK.

Does anybody have any suggestions?
