There are two different posts available - boat-based and Wildlife-Centre based. In general, applicants will need to have experience working with the public, good general knowledge of wildlife (knowledge of British wildlife would be an advantage), public speaking skills and experience of report writing and computing. Accommodation is provided and each volunteer will receive £45 stirling per week for expenses. Volunteers will need to pay for their own transport to and from Scotland. BOAT BASED VOLUNTEERS Two volunteers are required to work on the local dolphin-watching boat, where they will carry out photo-identification of bottlenose dolphins as well as providing interpretation for the public. Good sea legs are a must! Duties include: - Photo identification - Environmental interpretation for the public - Public speaking - Helping with events at the Wildlife Centre - Helping with land-based monitoring of dolphins - Helping with WDCS’s ‘Out of the Blue’ holidays in Scotland WILDLIFE CENTRE VOLUNTEERS The Centre-based volunteers will ideally have experience working with children and organising events.
