Yes, Henry, the way this conversation started wAs in response to the article by Michael Lind in Prospect. That article very polemically "frames a polarity" between "free verse" and "metrical verse". I wrote Lind a letter, inviting him to come over here to get a bit of serious schooling on the matter, but more with the idea that the psychic energies generated by his Manichean presence would likely produce a body of compelling statements akin to Alison's recent reply to the thoughtful Michael Snider. But no reply yet! Maybe he's in Vietnam, on a book tour for _The Necessary War_.
