In article <[log in to unmask]>, on Mon, 15 Jan 2001
at 19:34:07, I asked for data from cataloguing and data inputting
projects that would help when estimating the time required for
cataloguing museum objects. I promised to send a further message when I
had compiled the results.

As the information I received was so diverse it was not possible to
produce a concise summary, so I have the figures on our Web site at
<http://www.willpowerinfo.co.uk/catrates.htm> with some accompanying
notes. I hope that people will find this useful, and I shall be glad to
add any further data that anyone cares to send to me, preferably in the
format of the tables that I have assembled.

I am sending this message to the mailing lists of the [UK] Museum
Computer Group, the Museum Computer Network (MCN) and to the general
list MUSEUM-L, these being the lists to which I sent my initial enquiry.
I apologise to people who therefore receive more than one copy.
[Contrary to some recent discussion on MUSEUM-L, I find that it is more
helpful to send a single message to three lists rather than three
separate messages. When I receive the same message with the same ID from
more than one list, my software can spot the duplication and deal with
it appropriately; I imagine that others can too.]
