Dear list members, I am currently working on the seven Maccabean martyrs (seven brothers) commemorated on August 1. Chiefly, I am trying to find source material (sermons, legends, etc) concerning them during the Crusades period. Has anyone run across such things in their work? Further, I am tying this into Jewish use of these figures during the same period. On that score I have some good leads but would be glad to hear of any secondary works useful for building a methodology for assesing the use of these martyrs by the two traditions.
